Steve Thompson has been a servant of Forensics. He started his forensic career as a high school student as Burlington HS, where he was an extemper and a debater. He qualified for nationals in extemp while a student at UW-Oshkosh.
He has coached several state winners and national qualifiers over his 18 year career as head coach at Sheboygan South High School. During those years his team won the State tourmanent once, and placed second and third several times.
During that time he hosted seventeen invitational tournaments at Sheboygan South. He has served as Middle School Director for the WFCA's middle level tournament. He has run the extemp draw and provided extemp questions for the NFL National Tournament, and has served at Congress as NFL and NCFL Nationals.
In his spare time, Steve -- an avid Civil War buff -- participates in Civil War reenactments. He is a veritable font of knowledge on the Iron Brigade!
Steve's hard work and many years of dedication to forensics in WFCA, the state and the nation make him an outstanding addition to the WFCA Hall of Fame.
