The 39th annual WFCA State Tournament opened with 36 Student Congress participants debating legislation Friday afternoon, with the top 12 advancing to the Super Session that evening.

 

On Saturday morning students from 64 schools pervaded Ripon College and Ripon Middle and High Schools for three rounds of competition. Semi-finalists performed after lunch, leading to the final round of the top six in each category.

 

The awards ceremony recognized the lifetime accomplishments Barb Kallstrom of Durand as the 2009 Hintz Memorial Award winner. Six seniors received $1,000 scholarships. Individual event finalists and champions were announced, and the awards finished with the team awards.
